Dr Rebecca Hooker - Senior Tutor
I did my Master’s & Doctoral Degrees in Education at the University of Exeter. I have worked in Plymouth, Sheffield and South Devon Universities.
I really know first hand about the heartache and thrills of writing a Master’s dissertation and a Doctoral thesis
For many years, I have been sharing my experience and teaching academic English and skills to hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate students, from all over the world, each academic year for all types of writing and university presentations,
I have taught, and continue to teach, French, German and Italian
Our approach
“It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb
that wears you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe”
Muhammad Ali
We can help you to climb your ‘mountain’ and get rid of that pebble!
The process of writing and presenting your work at university, or even communicating with others in class can be quite tough to get right. Especially for mature learners and those with English as a second language.
It is so important to understand your University’s or College’s expectations and know the right language, and ‘moves’ for YOUR own academic success, whether you are doing your first degree, a post-graduate degree, research fellowship or even if you are a member of staff. You may need help to get your work published.
Academic terms and style can confuse and frustrate you, such as ‘thesis statement’; ‘critically appraise’ or ‘systematic literature review’. Tutors’ feedback can be difficult to grasp. Academic or scholarly writing is not easy, but with support it can be learnt.
We at ThesisWrite® can help YOU to de-mystify the demands of academic reading and writing and teach you the most effective strategies and skills for writing and presenting your work.
Our fluent English-speaking lecturers have
all gained postgraduate degrees at
British universities. We know the rewards
and challenges of doing a degree at an English-speaking university.
We are NOT going to write your work for you. That is not how it works, nor the right and ethical way to do it.
Your degree is a splendid reflection of YOU , your thinking and your ideas. But we can offer you individual and personally tailored guidance and support to help you learn the necessary skills to graduate successfully.
